Ashton turns 6!

Ashton celebrated his 6th birthday on Oct. 20th.
He got some more geo trax to go with his already built up geo trax set from Branson.
SURPRISE! A 4 wheeler trailer!
JUST WHAT HE WANTED!

This year Ashton decided to go get pizza and go bowling for his birthday fun.
Ashton's perfect form of bowling, and Branson's ball barely made it down the lane most times. One time the bowling ball made down half way and stopped, Brian had to walk down and push it the rest of the way.
Singing Happy Birthday and blowing out candles.

Can't get away with not going through the spankin machine on birthdays!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHTON! WE LOVE YOU AND ARE SO HAPPY YOU ARE APART OF OUR FAMILY!

Trick or Treating around the house

Since Grandma and Grandpa aren't able to see all of the grandkids on Halloween night, they set a day in the middle of October and hold their very own trick or treating night around Grandma and Grandpa's house. The kids look forward to this every year!
Grandpa handing out the candy in one the rooms.

Here is Ashton the PRCA Cowboy, and Branson the kitty kat (thanks so much to Grandma for making this costume, it is so cute on him!)
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for letting us come trick or treating to your house!

Pumpkin Patch

Grandma takes the grandkids to the pumpkin patch in Farmington every year, and lets them have fun and pick out their own pumpkin. We missed Jacob, Jackson, Jocelyn, and Mylee this year!!
Hailey and Branson decided to take a break on the big pumpkins.
Here are the kids with Uncle Taylor.
Branson needed just a little help carrying his pumpkin from Grandma.
And Ashton wanted to choose the biggest pumpkin there.

Hailey and Branson loved this 'hay' maze, but they kept loosing each other cause they would run too fast and in different directions. Ashton and Zachary loved to chase their little brother and little sister around.
Then we headed back to Grandma's house to paint the pumpkins, grandma is brave enough to let these little hands play with paint!

Birthday Party at Grandma's House

We also celebrated Ashton's birthday while down at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He got pretty spoiled with all of the fun gifts he got. Thank you everyone! Grandma and Grandpa got the very best toy, a John Deere semi truck and trailer, as you can see, he was very excited about this!

Grandma surprised Ashton with a 'hunting' birthday cake, he LOVED it!
And all of the kids got a turn blowing out the candles, a tradition at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

THANK YOU GRANDMA AND GRANDPA FOR THE FUN FILLED DAY! WE LOVE YOU BOTH!

Day 2 of our Family Deer Hunting Trip

The second day we had much better luck with the weather, the gun, and the deer.
It was such a nice day, that we all decided to head up the hillside and try to find us some good bucks. We packed us up some snacks, lots of water and headed up. Branson got carried most of the way by Brian. We would stop and take breaks, and breathe a little, and Branson would say 'don't stop....lets keep going!' He had it pretty good. Ashton kept up great too! Brian called them the best hunting buddies ever! We were gone for quite a bit on our hike, and saw nothing, so we headed back to the truck, also Brans needed to use the bathroom and didn't want to 'poop' like a hunter. So we headed down. Branson didn't like the down hill part, he kept saying 'Dad, this is my first time hunting, and I'm scared!' He didn't like going straight down hill on rocks.
The second round of hiking, Branson decided he needed a break, so Wobby and Brans hung out in the truck, while Dad and Ash headed out. 30 minutes after they had left, we heard 3 gun shots, and I knew that was their shots. We were pretty excited to see them with their 'trophy' buck. Ash seen this deer and knew instantly that this was HIS deer, and made the call to get him. And here is his trophy:
Ash was pretty excited about it! Branson said that he wanted to just pet the deer, so he went right up and pet him, and looked right in his eye. Branson kept asking 'when do we get to eat the jerky??' I had to explain to him, that we take the deer to the meat cutters, we get the rack, the meat cutter makes us jerky, and then sends the deer up to heaven. They thought that was pretty neat!
This hunt meant the world to Brian. He had such a fun time with his boys up hunting, and was so excited for Ashton to 'bag' his first buck.
Brian is now out hunting his Elk. Hopefully he gets Ashton's good hunting luck, and brings us home a big one!

Day 1 of our Family Deer Hunting Trip

We left our house at 6:30 am on Sunday, in the pouring rain, and headed up to Mink Creek. When we got there, we found LOTS of snow, but that wasn't stopping Brian and Ashton from hunting.
Ashton was such a trooper, hiked up some pretty steep hills, in the cold, and in some pretty deep snow. They found them a 2 point about 45 min. into it, and Ashton decided that that was the one he wanted to take, this being ASHTON's Deer hunt, he got to decide which one he wanted, and this was the one he wanted. Brian got his gun ready, tried to cock it, and it jammed on him! The 2 point stood their for a good minute and just stared at Brian and Ash, all the time Brian was trying to get his gun cocked....then the deer gave up and ran off. After this, they headed back to the truck pretty disappointed, and pretty wet and cold! Ashton decided he was done for the day, being cold and all, and Brian was thinking he was going to go buy him a new gun. But, in the long run decided to borrow a good friends gun for tomorrow.

This is what Wobby and Branson did while the boys were out hunting. We decided to stay in the warm truck! Branson thought he was going to help Dad out, and blow in the coyote caller, to get some deer to head Dad's way.

Caleb, Kaylee, and Jacob Came to Play

We had Jake and Hollie and their family up to our house this last weekend. My boys have been begging to have them up for almost a year now, so we thought we had better plan a fun weekend with them! We had fun, and the kids had an even funner time! Between playing cops and robbers, hunting on the playstation, riding 4 wheelers, and riding horse, they all stayed plenty busy!
Brian and Jake thought they needed to play a little too, they decided to head up the hillside, call in some coyotes and get them a few, BUT, they had no luck with that, so decided to head over to Snowville and hunt some rabbits. We all decided to go, so we hopped in our truck and headed over to Snowville.
Ashton and Caleb were the most excited about doing this, and had so much fun walking around with their dad's carrying their bb guns. Ash and Caleb are such good buddies, Ash hated to see him leave!
(fyi, in the picture above, Ashton's gun wasn't loaded...he was just trying to look through the site:)
Thanks for coming to play guys! We had a very fun time with you all! Come again!!

Fall or Winter???

We went for a drive yesterday afternoon, up the canyon about 15 miles away from our house and this is what we saw:
SNOW!!
It was SO pretty to see all of the fall leaves on the trees covered lightly with snow.
Our drive made me excited for Christmas; also made me want to come home, light a fire, and make cup of hot cocoa! We love going on drives, I was looking at the scenery and the boys were all looking for DEER.

Other fun news: my little bro got his mission call: Oklahoma City, OK leaving Dec 2nd. We are all so excited for Taylor and are so proud of his decision to go!!
