NFR 2010.....VEGAS BABY!

We got an invite from our dear friends Brandon and Stacey Barrow to go with them to Vegas for the NFR Rodeo. We of course, jumped at the chance to go. We dropped the kids off at Grandma and Grandpa's and off we went.
We seen this monster truck and had to make sure and snap a picture for Ash and Brans:
N F R, such a neat experience to be there, we have watched this on TV for the last several years, and to actually be there was pretty exciting:
All the top 15 guys/gals in each event competiting for the World:
Night 1:
Brandon & Stacey:
Chris & McKenzie:
THE COWBOY HIMSELF, CODY OHL:

Cody Ohl, is such a talented guy, we have his DVD's at home and watch him over and over. He is somewhat of a hero to Brian, Ashton, and Branson.

Every morning you can go watch Flint Rasmussen's Show (kind of like a talk show type thing). He usually interviews the rodeo guys and girls. This morning we were pretty lucky to have seen Bill Engvall on his show:

It was a pretty funny show:
Brian had been wanting to find Cody Ohl the whole weekend, so we kept an eye out for him everywhere we went. Sure enough, the time that Brian wasn't around is the time I spotted him. I wasn't sure if we would see him again, so I at least snapped a picture of me and Cody for the boys to see.
Night 2:
The next day, Brian was pretty determined to find Cody and shake the man's hand, we got lucky:

Joe Beaver, 8 Time World Champion, he is the announcer for the NFR, very talented guy!:
Tuff Cooper, calf roper, he is only 20 years old, and ended up taking 2nd in the World this year:
We went to another Flint Rasmusen's Show and seen Stran Smith and Luke Branquino:
Stran Smith, calf roper, very very nice guy!:
Luke Branquino, steer wrestler, this guy always shakes his booty with a good catch, he is such a good down to earth cowboy. Definetely a family man!:
We were pretty 'star struck' seeing all of these guys in person. You watch them on TV for so many years, and see the talent they have, and to actually meet them and shake their hands is a pretty neat thing. These men are cowboy heroes to my boys.
.
We made sure to take in Vegas as much as we could, aside from the Rodeo stuff. We hit the strip one night, stayed out till 1 am, which is normal for Vegas. Everyone rode a zip line across the 'old strip', which was fun....for them...I stayed on the ground for that one, the heights got to me!
And Stacey loves loves the M&M factory, so we made a quick stop there too. I took a picture of me and the M&M for Branson to see:
Night 3 (final night of the Rodeo):
MR. CODY OHL:
Trevor Brazile, this cowboy has got some talent. This year he won the Triple Crown: World Champion Header, World Champion Calf Roper, and World Champion all around. He walked away with a ton of money, 2 new trucks, and lots of saddles and buckles:
We had such a fun trip! We are going to make this a yearly tradition every year. Going to this rodeo makes all of the other rodeos seem like nothing!
Thanks Brandon & Stacey, Chris & Makenzie, and Boyd & Judy, we had such a fun time with you all!

Playin in the Snow

To get rid of the cold wintry days BLUES, we decided to make the most of it and enjoy the day out in the snow. Ashton and Branson loved this, and think winter is THE BEST!
Branson getting a turn on the sled:

Ashton's turn:
We have been talking about getting Branson to ride his 4 wheeler all by himself, and winter time is the best time to do it. Brian plows a 'snow track' in the yard and builds up the sides of the track with snow. This way Brans has something to run into and stop him from getting out of control. He did so good! It is fun to watch both of them drive their wheelers around, Ash usually will lap Branson a few times, but that is okay with Brans, he is a very cautious driver.....thank goodness!

Brian gets the Winter Blues the worst out of all of us. BUT, days like this makes him feel a little bit better. He is always a happy guy when he gets to horse around all day.

VISITORS

We got some pretty special visitors to come see us and Jaycee. Hailey and Zachary have been asking a few questions to Jerilyn, especially after Tate and Libby were born about Jaycee. After a few tearful talks, they came up and seen Jaycee's headstone. They brought us a pretty special present for Jaycee, and I know Jaycee is smiling from above! THANK YOU HAILEY AND ZACH for the pink horse and special drawings!
Another special visitor we got that day was Grandma Bybee. We sure do love her!
The whole group:
Thanks for coming to see us all!

Picture Day

2 Days after Thanksgiving my family all met up at our home to take some updated family pictures. THANK YOU HOLLI!!
The kids were all excited to see each other!
With all get togethers at our house, we like to let the men play a little. We planned on letting the boys shoot bb guns at balloons:
Jacob and Zach:

And the men got to shoot their shotguns, only problem was that they waited a little too late, and got snowed on:
Grandpa and Jedd taking a turn:
Jeremiah and Jon supplying the clay pigeons to the shooters:
Grandpa came up with an idea to stay warm, Ashton, Jacob and Zachary loved this:
Thanks everyone for coming to our house, we always love having visitors!!
